Today’s outing.

I’d forgotten how much fun it is having ALL the kids home. Actually, I hadn’t fully appreciated how much I had missed the eldest being here until he came back on Thursday.

Despite what can genuinely only be described as a mountain of laundry it is lovely having the house full again.  Or complete.  It feels complete.

Today has been a beautiful day.  The sun STILL is shining, it is lovely and warm so we decided to go out for a drive.  As soon as out was mentioned they all wanted to come.  I have to be honest I was surprised.  After all they are not little kids any more, I didn’t think they would want to be bothered.

I suppose they knew if I was also going there was a fairly high chance there would be ice-cream involved.  Can’t really go out on a sunny Sunday and not have ice-cream.  To be fair, if you are with me and it is any sort of day there is a fairly high chance there will be ice-cream involved.

Youngest was in fine form.  Believe me, this is NOT a given.  She loves to go out in the car but she doesn’t always like to sit for long and certainly doesn’t always like to get out and behave very well when we get to our destination.  Perhaps it helped that Caerphilly isn’t too far from home, she didn’t have to sit more than about half an hour.

So we went to the castle, had a short walk around the grounds.  Looked at the ducks and got the ice-cream.

Youngest held my hand.  Then she pretended she really needed to be with her dad.  So he held her hand.  She looked at him, smiled sweetly and pulled away.  I gave her the dead eye, took her hand and off we went again.

Then she HAD to have her father again.  He took her hand, she smirked at me, walked with him for a minute and left him again.

Why yes.  We can see a pattern.  So the pics you saw before were not just taken with the BB camera but with one hand hanging on to Youngest like grim death.  At one point I did have her pinned between myself and the railings so I could snap the fowl, keep control of her AND hang on the the ice-cream cone.

Yes, mother here.  I can multi-task.  I can do it with a World class wrecking machine in tow.
