That reminded me of when 16 was about five or six years old. He went with his class to a zoo for the day. He returned not at all impressed. When I asked him what was wrong he told me he had been bitten, on the head, by a, “big beaky bird, the one that can carry fish in it’s mouth thing”. It appears they had been told quite clearly to not go too close to the animals and birds. Well you wonder why the teacher even bothered. She was a clever enough girl, she should have known how he would take that. So when the rest of the kids were having their lunch near the water, he went over to look more closely at the water birds AND torment them. He thought it might be fun to wave his sandwich in front of the pelican. It tried a few times and then gave up. AND TOOK THE TOP OF HIS HEAD INTO ITS MOUTH! /roll eyes here. Then sigh. He was alright, not a mark on him intact. Which made me suspicious of the story - until the next day at school when the teacher told me it was right and if he couldn’t behave he wouldn’t be in any more school outings. Well, he’s still not a great one for listening but he can’t look a pelican in the eye - EVEN YET. And even on the TV. Kids, ‘eh?!
