Why when we describe someone do we have to go for the obvious?
Do you know so and so? Oh, yes, he’s black.
Do you remember this person? Yes, she’s gay.
So what? Frankly I’m not bothered about the colour of someone’s skin or their sexuality, keep all that to yourself.
Unless you’re going to tell me someone has an unholy fetish for custard creams, then I’m all ears. Because I am ambivalent to custard creams and am not above knowing of those who have weird fetishes towards them.
